Calling all kids! Join Young PicassosTM for a creative summer art camp this July!
The Young PicassosTM summer art camp takes kids on a creative and expressive journey exploring the season of summer. Young PicassosTM students will learn new art techniques and cultivate their self-esteem while also celebrating all things “summer”!
Each day begins with a warm up exercise to introduce the day’s subject matter and engage students. Nina, our Young PicassosTM camp leader, will then share a story to inspire the class. After listening and reflecting on the story, the class will set about creating an expressive response to the subject matter. Each class ends with a group discussion and review of the day.
Materials will be provided. Each session is limited to 6 students, so make sure to sign up today!
Session 1 (Ages 4-6): July 8-12, 9:00-11:30AM
Session 2 (Ages 7-10): July 15-19, 9:00-11:30AM
About Our Young PicassosTM Teacher
Young PicassosTM Teacher Nina Berch will be leading this year’s summer art camp. Nina’s interest in art education began in high school and lasted throughout college as she grew up working at a children’s art and science enrichment center in Oyster Bay, New York.
She loves working with children. She values art and specifically the process of creating, because she believes in the power of aesthetic experience and it’s effects on human development.
Alongside her full time career as a dyslexia specialist, Nina has taught process art classes at the Children’s Museum of Art, the Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art and Storytelling in Manhattan, New York, and the Reggio Emilia-inspired Early Childhood Education Center in Missouri City, Texas. She is a grateful and excited to work and learn with Young Picasso™ students this summer!
